Parliament, City Hall Buildings in Yerevan Lit Up in Solidarity with Lebanon

The Armenian Parliament building was lit up on Thursday night with an image of the Lebanese flag as a show of solidarity for Lebanon, where a massive explosion at the Beirut port on Tuesday rocked the country.

Soon after, the Yerevan City Hall building was also illuminated with the Lebanon flag, as well as the Armenian and Yerevan Coat of Arms.

Immediately following Tuesday’s devastating explosion in Beirut that rocked all of Lebanon, the Armenian government began to assess way in which Armenia will assist Lebanon.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that a cargo plane will leave for Beirut on Saturday carrying much-needed emergency supplies. Armenia High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan will be on board the relief flight.
